The Cascade Austin Healey Club has been established for the appreciation, promotion, preservation and enjoyment of the automobiles designed, built and/or significantly modified by Donald M. Healey and/or Geoffrey C. Healey.

All activities and purposes of the Club are primarily centered around automobiles that bear the Austin Healey nameplate. These include, but are not limited to, the Austin Healey 100-4, 100-6, 3000, Jensen-Healeys and Sprite models.

--- For some of the more spontaneous tours (short tours on a moments notice) will be noted on this web page if there is time. They will also be advertised via the e-mail list (see "E-Mail Service" tab above). In addition, those who want to be notified by phone need to get me their phone number. --- "I know this thread is getting old by now but lemme tell y'all what I did that makes BJ8 carb removal a (relative) breeze. I replace the 5/16" hex nuts (which require a 1/2" wrench) with 5/16-24 Jet Nuts from a Pegasus Racing catalog. These have a reduced hex (read 3/8" wrench) but the surface area is the same as the regular nut. Believe me, it's a zillion times easier to work with the smaller wrench. Just my 2-cents-worth...."

Alex -Was your problem a sticking float, or a needle valve that did not shut ? When my needle valve does not shut, I turn off my fuel pump (I have a switch in series with the pump) and run the engine until all the gas in the float bowls is used up. The floats are now at the bottomof the float chambers, and the needle valves are WIDE open. Turning the fuel pump back on causes an in rush of fuel, which usually blows any dirt off of the needle valve, and it will then work properly. This works for me, and it requires no disassembly of the float lid.- Bernie, 1967 BJ8

If you would like to nominate someone (or run) for one of these positions you may submit a nomination at the October Meeting. Or contact President Phil Daniels to have someone’s name put in nomination.

As per Article XIII paragraph A - the following applies:

Nominations for Officers will be opened at the September general meeting each year. Write-in or verbal nominations will be accepted before or at the October general meeting. All candidates nominated for office will have their names entered in the Minutes of the Meeting of the month nominated and printed in CASCADE. Nominations will not be accepted after the October meeting.

Only positions contested by two or more persons will appear on a ballot. Those positions with a single candidate only, will be considered to be elected by acclamation at the October meeting. If a contested position is the rule, a tear-out ballot will be printed in CASCADE, or be sent via separate correspondence, if necessary.

All ballots will be due by the December meeting. Voting shall be by ballot only and no voice or hand votes will be accepted at the December meeting.

As you may or may not know there will be a new track setup for the Hot Wheels races. Four tubes instead of two. We will only have a limited supply of Hot Wheels cars for you to borrow so it would be to your advantage to try to bring our own Hot Wheels car or cars. Target stores are a good source even our local West Seattle Pharmacy carries some. By bringing your own car you select just the right model and style that will bring you to the winners circle.
