Austin-Healey Record Runs (VHS)

Price: $19.00

Three original British Motor Corporations publicity films documenting the record attempts conducted in Austin-Healeys at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1953, 1954, and 1956.  Two are narrated by Jackie Cooper, himself a big fan of the then new Austin-Healey.  Includes rate footage of the early "Streamliner" Healeys as well as the prototype logs.  Features Donald Healey, Geoff Healey, Roger Menadue, Carrol Shelby, and Roy Jackson Moore among others.  A fascinating insight into the early history of Austin-Healeys. Highly recommended

Record breaking was a headline grabbing business in pre and post War years. The Austin-Healey record breaking programme was an extension of the competition activities of Austin-Healey designed to attract more publicity, especially in the all important American market.

All these record attempts were attempted at the famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA.
